Vulvar Irritation
Vulvar irritation, if persistent, can be linked to the HPV venereal wart viruses, also known as the genital wart virus.
The diagnosis of the pain requires a careful history by a gynecologist familiar with such problems. The vulva is examined with the help of a colposcope. During the examination, the muscles surrounding the vulva and vagina are checked for tenderness and tension. Vaginal discharge is checked under a microscope.
