Biopsy Vulvar
Taking a biopsy vulvar can lead to lichen sclerosis in the cervical area.
Dye called toluidine blue may be used. This dye helps identify all the areas of abnormal skin to take the tissue samples from. The only way to be sure vulva cancer is present is to remove tissue from the suspected area and examine it under a microscope by a pathologist.

Biopsy Vulvar -
Lichen Sclerosis, Cervical
If the area is large, a tiny piece of tissue is removed, not requiring stitches. If the abnormal area is small the doctor will completely remove it, sewing the skin together. Upon finding the abnormal areas, the doctor will inject a local anesthetic into the skin to make it numb. Taking a biopsy vulvar can lead to lichen sclerosis in the cervical area.
