Cause of bacterial vaginitis, plantar wart, and venereal wart have HPV in common.
BV is most commonly found in women and is not a sexually transmitted disease, although it is associated with sex. Symptoms may include swelling, itching, abnormal vaginal discharge, and a strong fishy smell. Strong chemicals or soaps, douching, may bring on symptoms, or bacteria spread during sex.
