Desquamative Inflammatory Vaginitis
Desquamative inflammatory vaginitis and cervical dysplasia can also be the cause of vulvar vestibulitis.
It has been known as exudative vaginosis, hydrorrhea vaginosis, erosive vaginosis or haemorrhagic vaginosis. It is extremely difficult to diagnose this condition due to its similarity to atrophic vaginosis. DIV is a blistering or erosive skin disease of the vagina.
Desquamative inflammatory vaginitis and cervical dysplasia can also be the cause of vulvar vestibulitis.

Vulvar pain syndromes cause major psychological as well as physical distress. The cause of DIV is unknown. Some cases of DIV are difficult to differentiate from lichen planus. Vaginal skin is thin and bleeds easily. Common symptoms are persistent frothy discharge, burning, soreness and dyspareunia. Desquamative inflammatory vaginitis and cervical dysplasia can also be the cause of vulvar vestibulitis.
